Cooking With One Hand: Home-smoked London broil with exotic mushroom pan gravy

Video: David Vos
When it comes to foodie phrases, 'exotic mushrooms' and 'home smoked' are two of many that whet our appetite. They do not, however, inspire a lot of cooking confidence: It all sounds a little too 'restaurant' for our humble apartment kitchen and learned-from-mom skills
As it turns out, things are not always as hard as they sound. In this week's episode of Cooking With One Hand, David Vos is teaching us how to make house smoked London broil with exotic mushroom pan gravy, a dish that, despite its name, is basically unknown in the city of London. In fact, London broil is a North American dish made with marinated beef that is seared at a high heat Read more...

The Simpsons: Tapped Out Updated for Christmas 2015
Electronic Arts has launched the newest content update for The Simpsons: Tapped Out on mobile, bringing a new Christmas event to players.
This event begins with Homer and Ned competing to have the best Christmas decorations on their homes, and introduces new Christmas ‘skins’ for these buildings. From there, Merrymakers will appear around town to celebrate the season, and players can tap on them to receive event currency. As players complete event quests, they’ll unlock new Christmas skins for additional buildings, like the First Church of Springfield, as an example.
As players collect event currency, they’ll unlock new prizes for their town, including the Springfield Orphanage and Virgil’s Cabin buildings, among other items. In addition to earning currency from Merrymakers, users can send their characters to complete specific jobs to earn extra currency.
As part of this event, players will build four new attractions in their town, starting with the ‘Best Snowman Ever.’ Additional attractions include a Gingerbread Mansion, Exotic Petting Zoo and Reindeer Burger Truck. This Christmas event is split into three timed acts, with the Exotic Petting Zoo and Reindeer Burger Truck being part of Act Two.
Elsewhere, players can complete new weekly challenges by sending characters on specific jobs or tapping on Merrymakers, as examples. New challenges are unlocked each week.
This event’s social feature sees players drop off presents in their friends’ towns while choosing ‘naughty’ or ‘nice’ to determine whether they’ll share some of their contents with friends, or keep them all for themselves. These presents contain crafting materials, which can be used to create additional items, including decorations and buildings.
Finally, the game’s store has been updated with themed items, including premium buildings like the Springfield Animal Shelter and the Duff Center Arena, as well as premium Christmas themes for additional buildings. Users can also purchase some decorations using the game’s free currency.
The Simpsons: Tapped Out is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore. The Christmas event will be available for the next 23 days.

Team behind Lady Gaga's flying dress to bring wearable tech to a store near you

VFILES, the downtown New York City-based web portal for all things digital fashion, is expanding into wearable technology in a major way
The business told Mashable that it would explore wearable technology with their own in-house brand in collaboration with the fashion technology company, Studio XO, the same creative team behind Lady Gaga's flying dress, Azealia Banks' "digital mermaid bra" and interactive clothes for the Black Eyed Peas. The two will unveil their new collection under the name VFILES_XO, which will be sold online and in VFILES retail stores
Though both sides are tight-lipped about the initiative, Julie Anne Quay, VFILES founder, says it would "involve color, an app, music." Read more...
