Apple's new iBooks Instagram account has a birthday message for J.K. Rowling

We just got more proof that Instagram is an essential social media tool, even for the world's richest tech company, as Apple's iBooks finally launched its account on the service on Saturday. 



Starting with an animation of the cover of Emma Cline's widely praised debut novel The Girls, the post includes a blurb about the book's "terrifying events that forever change protagonist Evie Boyd, a disaffected teenager drawn into a Mason Family-like cult." 






That's pretty much how the account is used over the course of 15 posts, with personal message-style promotions of books available on iBooks mixed with still images, notes and animations.  Read more...
