Like many others currently in their mid-to-late 20s, I grew up listening to the constant sound of doors opening and closing — you know, the sound of one of your buddies signing into or out of AOL Instant Messenger, better known as AIM.
AIM was the hub of my social life from the late '90s to the mid-2000s. And like many others currently in their mid-to-late 20s, I haven't given much thought to AIM since. But the announcement of Verizon's acquisition of AOL brought it to mind again. So I took a trip down memory lane
