Singer-songwriter Vance Joy has struck relative gold in the music world. In just a few weeks, he'll support Taylor Swift on her 1989 World Tour, and be exposed to millions of fans along the way — 1.6 million in North America alone. The tour kicked off this Tuesday in Tokyo and will make its way to the U.S. on May 20, where Joy will join. The performances will culminate in December — fittingly, in Joy's native Melbourne, Australia
This is all somewhat ironic: Joy, a.k.a. James Keogh wasn't always headed down the path to stardom, although he always loved music. In fact, he nearly became a lawyer.
